Amines, C16-18-alkyldimethyl is a tertiary amine with a linear aliphatic chain and are N,N-dimethyl substituted. Amines, C16-18-alkyldimethyl is insoluble in water and its density is lower than that of water. So it floats on the water. It is soluble in alcohol. Contact may irritate skin, eyes and mucous membranes. May be toxic by ingestion, inhalation or skin absorption. Used in the manufacture of other chemicals.
Amines, C16-18-alkyldimethyl is toxic. Inhalation, ingestion or skin contact with material may cause severe injury or death. Contact with molten substance may cause severe burns to skin and eyes. Amines, C16-18-alkyldimethyl is an intermediate for the preparation of cationic surfactants, zwitterionic surfactants and nonionic surfactants. Amines, C16-18-alkyldimethyl is used for the preparation of octadecyl /hexadecyldimethylbenzyl ammonium chloride, octadecyl /hexadecyldimethylbetaine, octadecyl /hexadecyl Intermediates of surfactants such as dimethyl amine oxide, octadecyl/hexadecyl trimethyl ammonium chloride and octadecyl/hexadecyl trimethyl ammonium bromide.

2. Amines, C16-18-alkyldimethyl is widely used in daily chemical industry, washing industry, textile, oil field and other industries. It mainly plays the role of antiseptic, sterilization, washing, softening, antistatic, emulsifying and so on. Amines, C16-18-alkyldimethyl is pigment stabilizer, paint enhancer, soil stabilizer, organic synthesis intermediate.
